چکیده

El término zoonosis, etimológicamente, deriva de las raíces griegas zoo: animal y gnosis: enfermedad, y comprende a las enfermedades infecciosas transmisibles en condiciones naturales, entre los animales vertebrados y el hombre, donde los animales son la parte esencial en el ciclo biológico del agente etiológico, que pueden ser priones, virus, bacterias, hongos y parásitos. La FAO estima que el 60% de los patógenos humanos están relacionados con las zoonosis .
